A major difference between AI and Big Data is that Big Data is the raw input that needs to be cleaned, structured, and integrated before the data becomes useful, whereas AI is the output, the intelligence generated by processing the data. This makes the two fundamentally different. Artificial intelligence is a form of computing that allows machines to perform cognitive functions, such as acting or reacting to inputs, similar to what humans do. Traditional computing applications also react to data, and both reactions and responses must be manually coded. Any type of error occurs, like an unexpected result, and the application is unable to react. Instead, AI systems constantly change their behavior to adapt to changes in findings and modify their responses.
