Human resource management is an emerging discipline, introduced in the late 1970s. Although the history of HRM is not long, the idea of personnel management has a long history. Chronologically, the period from the Industrial Revolution, which began in the late 18th century, until the 1970s is known as the traditional phase of personnel management. Since the late 1970s, personnel management has given way to human resource management.
