Mentioning spam, I believe that everyone will not be unfamiliar with it. Whether it's fraudulent information sent by fake base stations, advertising information sent by major e-commerce platforms on Tmall Taobao, or promotional information sent by various real estate agents with cell phone numbers, it's hard to avoid the harassment of spam on everyone's cell phone. In some special days (such as double 11, double 12, double day, etc.), various types of spam is even more annoying. We can't help but ask, damn spam, why can't we avoid it?
Unsubscribing is a dead giveaway
Many people get tired of receiving spam for no apparent reason. At this time, everyone wishes there was a way to reject these spam texts. Let's take a look at a few common ways to unsubscribe:
1Reply "T"
We all know that a lot of spam messages are accompanied by a phrase like this: "Return T to unsubscribe! ". Yet can replying to this letter really unsubscribe you? The answer, I'm afraid, is heartbreaking. First of all, spam is sent to a person because his number happens to be in the spam sender's number pool (e.g., 139 number segment, 138 number segment and so on). Before the spam is sent, the sender doesn't know if all these numbers are used, and sends them in an aimless manner. If the sender receives a reply from a user, the sender knows that the number is used. This information is not only quickly synchronized with all the spammers, but also exposes the consumer who replies to the text message to more accurate spam. Although we can't deny that there are still some conscientious SMS senders who will stop sending spam to the people after they receive an unsubscribe "T" from them. But for more spammers who lack integrity, it's counterproductive for the people to respond to any message.
2Reply "0000"
In addition to replying to "T", there is also a message circulating on the Internet that replying to "0000" can unsubscribe from The first time I've seen this, I've seen it on the Internet. But is this really possible? In fact, replying to "0000" requires special caution. First of all, not all carriers support this method of unsubscribing. If they don't support it, it's useless to send it. Secondly, even if the carrier supports it, the consumer must send it to the official number of the corresponding carrier (e.g. 10086, 10000, etc.). If you accidentally send it to the spammer's number, you may subscribe to unnecessary services and lose your phone bill. Finally, "0000" can only be used to unsubscribe and block SMS messages that are directly related to your carrier. If you are sending a spam message from another carrier, you will not be able to block it by sending "0000".
3 Taobao background shutdown
In addition to the two methods mentioned above, there is also a way to shut down the SMS push in Taobao background, which is the widest process. As we know, after we have purchased goods on Taobao, Tmall and other e-commerce platforms, the store knows our cell phone number. Using the SMS push method that comes with Taobao, the store can send various types of promotional SMS to buyers. At this time, we can log into the Taobao background, in whether to receive the seller promotional text messages on the option to choose no, so that through the Taobao text messaging platform to send a variety of promotional information to a certain extent will be blocked.
However, a large number of Tmall and Taobao sellers use other third-party platforms to send promotional messages. Although we can turn off the SMS push function in the Taobao background, the spam sent by sellers through various third-party platforms is still unavoidable.
How to cure it?
Based on the previous analysis, it is not difficult to find out that all types of unsubscribe methods at this stage are actually very difficult to stop the bombardment of spam SMS. So for the people, is passive acceptance the only way to go?
In fact, there are still many ways to solve this problem. As early as 2015, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the adoption of the "Communications short message service management regulations", which clearly requires short message service providers, short message content providers without the consent of the user or request, shall not send commercial short messages to them. With regard to commercial short messages, the Provisions specifically state that no commercial short messages shall be sent to users without their consent or request. If a user agrees and then expressly refuses to receive commercial short messages, it shall stop sending them. Short message service providers, short message content providers to send commercial short messages to the user, should provide a convenient and effective way to refuse to receive and inform the user with the short message, shall not be in any form on the user to refuse to receive the short message to set up obstacles, the provisions of the regulations will be formally implemented from June 30, 2015 onwards. In addition to the introduction of laws and regulations, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has also set up a special spam SMS complaint platform. Once a consumer receives a spam SMS, he or she can file a complaint through/on the website. Once the complaint is substantiated, the corresponding spam SMS sender will also be penalized.
In addition to the MIIT's complaint platform, we can also use various types of third-party security software. These security software can accurately determine whether certain numbers and text messages are spam through big data analysis. Once a spam SMS is received on a cell phone, it can also be automatically blocked to reduce the impact of spam SMS on people. Of course, a variety of third-party security software is, after all, treating the symptoms but not the root cause. Only from the law to strengthen the management and punishment, increase the illegal cost of lawbreakers, in order to deter the sender of spam SMS in a sense, to completely solve the problem of harassment of spam SMS. The management of spam, but also need more efforts of the regulator
