Taiyuan University of Technology, referred to as "Taiyuan University of Technology", is located in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. It is a national "double-first-class" construction university, a "21/project" key construction university, the first batch of "excellent engineer education and training plan" universities of the Ministry of Education, and a member unit of China-Russia Engineering University Alliance and CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.

Campus environment
As of April 2020, Taiyuan University of Technology has four campuses, namely Yingxi, Huyu, Mingxiang and Berlin, with a total area of over 3,205 mu and a building area of 1, 2 1, 000 square meters. Yingxi Campus, Huyu Campus and Berlin Campus are located on the west bank of Fenhe River. Mingxiang Campus is located in Shanxi University Education Park in the north of Jinzhong City, Shanxi Province, about 25 kilometers away from Taiyuan City, about 12 kilometers away from Taiyuan South Station and about 10 kilometers away from Taiyuan Wusu International Airport.
Mingxiang Campus, Yingxi Campus, Huyu Campus and other campuses make overall plans, and undertake the teaching and scientific research tasks of their respective colleges, departments, research institutes and research centers. Among them, Mingxiang Campus vigorously develops emerging disciplines, creates scientific and technological characteristics of the new campus, and becomes a national innovation research highland such as big data research and development, micro-nano measurement and control, photoelectric information, environmental engineering, economic management, politics and law, and national science park, and builds a new platform for schools to serve the national economic construction.
