The Department of Chemistry is now equipped with a first-level doctoral program in chemistry and a postdoctoral mobile station in chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry and Physics, and Curriculum and Instructional Theory (Chemistry) have second-level doctoral and master's degree programs; Applied Chemistry and Chemistry Education have second-level master's degree programs. The Laboratory of Green Chemistry and Chemical Process Greening is a key laboratory in Shanghai. The Department of Chemistry also has the Institute of Bioelectrochemistry, the Research Center for Water Environment and Interface Science, the Institute of Medicinal Chemistry and the Institute of Drug Synthesis.
