Chongqing Mechanical and Electrical Vocational and Technical University is not a pheasant university, but a regular college. The school was formerly known as Chongqing Weaponry Industry Worker's University, which consists of eight vocational colleges and universities, including Chang'an, Jiangling, Jialing, Construction, Changjiang, Wangjiang, Xichang, and Luhua, etc. It was established as a full-time general institution of higher learning on the basis of Chongqing Weaponry Industry Vocational University in 2003.
