Renewable Engergy & Environmental Finance
The program is divided into one-year full-time or two-year part-time, and is open to students with experience in a number of different fields (including business, economics, finance, engineering, mathematics, environmental science and physics).
Based on global data, it is estimated that achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 will require annual investments of $5-7 trillion in the public and private sectors. With an estimated investment gap of $2.5 trillion per year in developing countries, this represents a major challenge, but also an opportunity for policymakers, investors and businesses.
As such, this course will help students develop an understanding of the theory of finance and the application of sustainability considerations (with a focus on environmental issues) to financial markets. The course also includes a high-intensity low-carbon energy component designed to provide students with creative and analytical approaches to problem solving in a sustainable financial environment and to enhance students' social interpersonal and leadership skills.
