Program Objectives

The Master of Science in Public **** Health Data Science is designed to provide students with rigorous training in quantitative methods, including the statistical and computational skills needed to manage, analyze, and learn from health data. Students will learn:

? Aggregate, visualize, and parse data

? Apply statistical methods to draw conclusions from data

? Apply machine learning to reveal features of large, complex health datasets

? The statistical theory behind common data science methods

? Effectively communicating results and findings to a wide audience

? The program is a terminal degree, but can also provide a foundation for students who are interested in pursuing advanced studies in biostatistics, statistics, data science, or computer science for a PhD.

Application Requirements

? Applicants are encouraged to have an undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, computers, or another related discipline in a quantitative field. Recommended undergraduate courses include calculus, statistics, and basic computer programming.
