ArcGlobe is a new product that appeared after ArcGIS 9.0, designed for displaying scenes with large amount of data, and supports seamless display of raster and vector data.ArcGlobe is based on a global view, all data are projected under the World Cube Projection, and the data are displayed in hierarchical chunks. To improve display efficiency, ArcGlobe caches data locally on demand and vector data can be rasterized.

ArcGlobe projects all the data onto the surface of the sphere, making the scene display closer to the real world. It is suitable for city-wide, province-wide, national and even global data display on a large scale.
