Chen Guang is currently the dean of the School of Energy and Environment, Anhui University of Technology (AUT). In recent years, he has published more than 20 papers in Heat transfer Engineering, Journal of HIT, Metallurgical Energy and other newspapers and magazines. In terms of vertical projects, he presided over the key project of Anhui Provincial Department of Education, "Research on Applied Mathematical Model of Shroud Furnace", which passed the provincial appraisal and reached the international advanced level; he participated in a 973 project during his doctoral studies. In terms of horizontal projects, he has presided over the "Baosteel hooded furnace annealing mathematical model optimization research", "Baosteel continuous casting billet heating process research", "Nanshan Iron and Steel heating furnace online secondary control model development ", "Baosteel color coated steel plate heating model research", "Baosteel continuous annealing furnace internal heat function test research" and many other topics, for the enterprise energy saving and improve product quality has made great contributions. For three consecutive years, it has been ranked first in the college's scientific research.

Cultivated Li Zhihu, Zhang Peng, Li Wang, Chen Peng, Wu Liming, Dong Lei, etc., who won the 2nd prize of the National Challenge Cup, the 3rd prize of the National Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction Competition and the outstanding students of China Youth Science and Technology Innovation Award. The two young teachers he guided, Chen Demin and Zhang Li Hui, won the first and second place respectively in the College's Young Teachers' Lecture Grand Prix, and the young teacher he guided, Lu Biao, has independently developed a model program for secondary online control of the heating furnace, which has been put into use in the Nangang Medium Plate Plant, and whose functions have already reached the level of the French company Staines.
