Target audience
It's all very well to use new-age, trendy design elements and stylish graphics, but if you're targeting an older audience, you'll have to think again - a text-heavy or cryptic logo may be difficult for them to understand. In case your audience is young, cutting-edge graphics would be perfect. What you have to understand is that it's usually not the art lovers you're going to cater to, it's the general public with an average level of appreciation.
Brandability
Logo is the face of the company. That's why logos get printed on company trucks, product packaging, websites, advertisements, and more. An effective logo does what it says - it's easily recognizable as soon as you see its color, regardless of its size; it's very promotional, whether it's used as a Twitter avatar or as a highway billboard. If your logo just relies on busy text, this can create some problems.
Color is important
The most important part of Logo design is the choice of color. Color affects the meaning that the Logo is trying to convey, and each color can convey a different meaning and add meaning to the logo. But be wary of falling into the trap of misinformation by using too many elements. For example, this farmhouse logo, pictured below, is pleasingly colorful.
Versatility
Logos have versatility and it has to be able to be applied to all areas required. Even a part of the logo can be recognized as long as it can be put where it is needed.
Don't use readymade images
Don't use clipart, images that are taken from the internet that are readymade, especially those that are copyrighted and trademarked. First of all, it's hard to distinguish the difference by using an existing logo to identify yourself. Secondly it shows that your design is amateurish.
Attractive fonts
Fonts are very important for designing a good logo. You have two options: either customize the font or use an existing one. When creating a custom font, you want to make sure that your font is simple enough without being too fancy or quickly becoming outdated. If the text is simple, a creative font will be recognizable. But if it's something less accessible, then the font needs to be simple and legible. This combination of Freedom and Seagull, pictured below, is great.
Maintain multimedia compatibility
Once you've finalized your logo design and are sure it's ready to be applied to your company's products and official branding, go ahead and create multiple documents and versions that can be applied to a variety of media and platforms. Keep the document in high resolution so that it can be used for a variety of uses. Also, have a black and white version in addition to a color version. You also need to make sure that the logo has no chromatic aberration and can be recognized in either color or black and white.
Creating a Vector Logo
Logos are going to be brought to be used on a variety of objects such as advertisements, t-shirts, packages, products, and so on. Based on the fact that vector graphics can be easily extended without compromising the quality of the image, the best way to adjust the logo is to use Adobe Illustrator or similar vector tools. Thus, designing logos in vector format avoids troubles that you may encounter in the future.
Creating a Unique Logo
Don't try to mimic or take an interception of another logo to create a new one for yourself. For example, in the image below, the logo for the Alliance for the Protection of Animals utilizes silhouettes to give the logo the appearance of two puppies, highlighting the uniqueness of the animal protection organization.
Avoid being too trendy
It is great to have a trendy logo, but at the same time avoid being too trendy. Because what is fashionable today could be outdated tomorrow. People don't want a logo that is outdated, so design a logo that is not outdated and can span generations.
Take enough time while designing the logo as it is the most essential element of the company. He shapes the basic image of the company. The logo and your brand are inseparable, which is why you need to think about what elements and colors to use in this logo.
