What is the meaning of Big Data?
Big data technology refers to the ability to quickly obtain valuable information from a wide variety of massive types of data. Technologies applicable to Big Data include massively parallel processing (MPP) databases, data mining grids, distributed file systems, distributed databases, cloud computing platforms, the Internet, and scalable storage systems.

Big data has the following four characteristics:

First, the volume of data is enormous. For example, the volume of all printed material produced by human beings is only 200 petabytes (PB). the capacity of a typical personal computer hard disk is on the order of terabytes (TB), while the volume of data in some large enterprises is approaching the order of petabytes (EB).

The second is the variety of data types. Nowadays, data types are not only in the form of text, but also in the form of pictures, videos, audios, geolocation information, and other types of data, with personalized data accounting for the absolute majority.

Third, the processing speed is fast. Data processing follows the "one-second rule," which allows us to quickly obtain high-value information from various types of data.

Fourth, low value density. Take video as an example, an hour of video, in the uninterrupted testing process, may be useful data only one or two seconds.
