The Internet of Things (IoT) is a network based on the Internet, traditional telecommunication networks and other information carriers, allowing all ordinary physical objects that can be independently addressed to realize interconnection and interoperability. The Internet of Things originated in the field of media and is the third revolution in the information technology industry. It has three important features: common object equipment, autonomous terminal interconnection and universal service intelligence. It connects all objects to the Internet through information sensing devices and exchanges information to realize intelligent identification and management.

The Internet of Things (IoT) refers to connecting any object to the network through information sensing devices, according to an agreed protocol, and the objects are exchanged and communicated with information through the information dissemination medium to realize intelligent identification, positioning, tracking, and supervision. There are three keys in IoT application, which are perception layer, network transmission layer and application layer.

Smart home is the use of advanced computer technology, the use of intelligent hardware, the Internet of Things technology, communication technology, and home life with a variety of subsystems organically combined, through the integrated management, so that home life is more comfortable, convenient, effective, and safe.

Intelligent transportation, is the Internet of Things, the Internet, cloud computing as the representative of the intelligent sensing technology, information network technology, communication transmission technology and data processing technology effectively integrated, and applied to the entire transportation system, in a larger spatial and temporal scope of the role of the comprehensive transportation system. Intelligent transportation is to intelligent road network, intelligent travel, intelligent equipment, intelligent logistics, intelligent management as an important content, with a high degree of integration of information technology, information resources as the main features of the comprehensive use of the new mode of development of large-scale transportation.

The relationship between anything and the concept of that thing formed in people's minds is a relationship of interdependence. The concept of the thing is a reflection of the essential attributes of the thing in people's minds. IoT is also a thing. Therefore, the relationship between the Internet of Things and the Internet concept is also interdependent. Leaving the Internet, the concept of the Internet of Things is no wood, no source of water.
