What Chinese people believe in
Crisis of faith is a popular word in the previous paragraph. Though I don't want to admit it, it is an objective fact that there are some spiritual problems among Chinese people nowadays; however, on the other hand, even if it is so, I don't want to be like those experts who, for some purposes, lash out at the social status quo and criticize it to no avail. Nowadays, there are problems with the information channels in society, and the media is a group that participates in the division of social interests. It is very difficult for us to fully understand society with the information they convey, and sometimes we are misled and deceived. In this respect, the media's morality is lacking. But behind their reports, we can see something if we want to understand. Faith is in crisis, but again, not so terrible?

But the truth is that there is no era without a crisis of faith. We are sometimes comparing the present to a perfectly idealized ancient China. In ancient China, when Confucianism was at its height, it was inevitable that there were a number of traitors and villains among the most educated scholarly class. We have developed to the present in the mode of reform and opening up, it is inevitable that some problems will arise, from the great abolition to the great prosperity, come too fast, fast violation of the law of development, people's hearts and minds, which can not be avoided. Society needs to pay attention to, but do not have to face these problems with an attitude of fear, disgust and confusion.

Chinese people's faith relies heavily on morality, which is a bit different from that of the West. Most of the time, we don't believe in gods by nature, and what we believe in is actually an awareness of ethics and adherence to morality. It's just that many people don't recognize these and visualize them as Buddhas, fairies, and gods, which gives rise to the so-called confusion of the divine system. Nowadays, for example, there are still some people who still believe in the gods of their own family, which is mostly considered to be the spirits of their ancestors, which reflects a kind of alienated filial piety.

Pragmatism exists, and so does the need to worship whichever one is needed, but we don't have to be harsh. That's not faith, it's just aspiration. Religious idols can sometimes be a sign of faith, sometimes just a symbol.

Money worship, materialistic worldview, is what I talked about above, and it appears normally, and it will be mitigated when the society develops to a certain extent. The development of the material world is the basis of spiritual development, Western capitalist society, has been in a materially rich environment for hundreds of years, a variety of systems have been fully developed on this basis, so we often envy the fairness of foreign countries, democracy, freedom, unaware that this is exactly what we are now experiencing at home unfair, undemocratic, unfree development over. China can not be achieved overnight, people are too eager, without this foundation, the faith will not be revived to the peak of the development of ancient Chinese feudalism that we expect.

The problem of faith that Chinese people are now worried about is actually a worry about spiritual life, a hope for a spiritually better world. We have a brilliant past and a disappointing present, but looking beyond the ego, before and after, we should be full of confidence to face the future, to face the development. It may not be outdated.
