"Zhu Sheng Chai": Cantonese people call American-born Chinese children who only speak English "Zhu Sheng Chai". Women are referred to as "Chuk Seng Mui". The term "Bamboo Rise" actually refers to the "Bamboo Bar", which is a thick bamboo bar made with many sections in the center but not through (i.e., both sides are impassable), which is a metaphor for the fact that they do not understand the Chinese language and the Chinese and Western cultures, "half a bucket of water". "(i.e. both sides of the bamboo are impassable). Why do they call "bamboo kongs" "bamboo risers" in Cantonese? This involves an interesting linguistic phenomenon: avoidance and the pursuit of "good luck". In Cantonese, "kong" and "降" have the same sound, so in order to avoid the taboo of "降", the word "竹升" was coined in the opposite direction. The term "bamboo rise" was coined to avoid the taboo of "drop". The term was later used to refer to foreign-born Chinese children. With the "Chuk Seng Chai" similar to the name of the "soil paper boy" (native-born), "Tusheng" and so on.
