Tungsten steel (tungsten carbide) has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, better strength and toughness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, etc., especially its high hardness and wear resistance, even at a temperature of 500 ℃ is basically unchanged in 1000 ℃ still have a very high hardness.
Introduction
Tungsten steel, also known as cemented carbide, is a sintered composite material containing at least one metal carbide composition. Tungsten carbide, cobalt carbide, niobium carbide, titanium carbide, and tantalum carbide are common components of tungsten steel. The grain size of the carbide component (or phase) is typically between 0.2 and 10 micrometers, and the carbide grains are bonded together using a metal binder. The binder usually refers to the metal cobalt (Co), but for special applications, nickel (Ni), iron (Fe), or other metals and alloys may also be used. The compositional combination of carbides and bonding phases to be determined is called a "grade".
Tungsten steel is classified according to ISO standards. This classification is based on the material type of the workpiece (e.g. P, M, K, N, S, H grades). The bonding phase composition is mainly utilized for its strength and corrosion resistance.
Tungsten steel matrix consists of two parts: one is the hardened phase; the other part is the bonding metal. The bonding metal is generally iron group metals, commonly used is cobalt, nickel. Thus there are tungsten-cobalt alloys, tungsten-nickel alloys and tungsten-titanium-cobalt alloys.
Tungsten-containing steel, such as high-speed steel and certain hot work die steel, steel containing tungsten on the steel hardness and heat resistance has a very significant increase, but the toughness will be sharply reduced.
The main application of tungsten resources is also tungsten carbide, also known as tungsten steel. Cemented carbide, known as the teeth of modern industry, tungsten steel products are used to a very wide extent.
Introduction of applications
Tungsten steel belongs to the tungsten carbide, also called tungsten-titanium alloy. Hardness can reach 89~95HRA, because of this, tungsten steel products (common tungsten steel watches), with not easy to be worn, hard not afraid of annealing, but brittle characteristics.
Tungsten carbide is mainly composed of tungsten carbide and cobalt, which accounts for 99% of all components, 1% for other metals, so it is also known as tungsten steel.
Commonly used in high-precision machining, high-precision cutting tool materials, lathes, impact drills, glass cutter bits, ceramic tile cutter on top of the hard, not afraid of annealing, but brittle. Belong to the ranks of rare metals.
Tungsten steel (Cemented Carbide) has a series of excellent properties such as high hardness, wear resistance, strength and toughness is better, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, especially its high hardness and abrasion resistance, even at temperatures up to 500 ℃ is basically unchanged at 1000 ℃ is still very high hardness. Cemented carbide is widely used as materials, such as turning tools, milling cutters, planing tools, drills, boring tools, etc. It is used for cutting cast iron, non-ferrous metals, plastics, chemical fibers, graphite, glass, stone and ordinary steel, and can also be used to cut heat-resistant steel, stainless steel, high manganese steel, tool steel and other difficult-to-machine materials. The cutting speed of new cemented carbide is equal to hundreds of times of carbon steel.
Tungsten steel (tungsten carbide) can also be used to make rock drilling tools, mining tools, drilling tools, measuring gauges, wear parts, metal abrasives, cylinder liners, precision bearings, nozzles and so on.

Deformation reasons
There are many reasons affecting the deformation and bending of tungsten steel products, and the causes of the deformation and bending of a particular product should be analyzed in specific cases, and sometimes it is a kind of factor that plays a role, and sometimes it is a variety of factors, and it is not possible to make a generalization.
The causes of deformation and bending of tungsten steel products can be analyzed from the following aspects:
1, carbon gradient.
2, cobalt gradient.
3, temperature gradient.
4, Density gradient of pressed products.
5, Improperly loaded boat.
6, shrinkage factor.
