Wanxi College is enrolled in the second undergraduate batch in Anhui, so we usually think of Wanxi College as a second university. Wanxi College is a provincial comprehensive public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education, and its history of operation can be traced back to the "Anhui Provincial Third Agricultural School", which was founded by Mr. Zhu Yushan, the former vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress in 1918, and in March 2000, it was established as the "Anhui Provincial Third Agricultural School".

School history can be traced back to 1918 when Mr. Zhu Yunshan, former Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, founded the "Anhui Third A Agricultural School", which was established in March 2000 as a result of the merger of the former Lu'an Teachers' College, Anhui Union University and Lu'an Teachers' School.

The school is located in the "National Garden City", "National Ecological Demonstration Area", "China Habitat Environment Model City", "Top 200 Charming Cities with Chinese Characteristics" and "Top 200 Attractive Cities with Chinese Characteristics". The school is located in Lu'an City, a famous historical and cultural city in Anhui Province, which is honored as "National Garden City", "National Ecological Demonstration Area", "Exemplary City of Habitat Environment in China" and "Top 200 Attractive Cities with Characteristics in China". As of April 2021, the university now has 15 second-level colleges, 67 undergraduate majors, enrollment in 57 majors, the campus covers an area of 1,816 acres, with a total building area of more than 460,000 square meters. The library has a paper collection of 1,236,900 volumes, 1,669,800 electronic books (including yearbooks, standards, etc.), and teaching and research instruments and equipment worth 281 million yuan.

The university now has 20,823 full-time students, 1,139 on-the-job faculty members, 920 full-time teachers, 314 above the title of associate professor (of which 78 are full professors), 773 teachers with master's and doctoral degrees, and 25 high-level talents at the provincial level.
