Why can't I switch to the D drive by typing cd d: in the dos cd command?
The CD command is a directory change command. If you want to go to the D drive, you don't need to use this command, just type in D: and enter

If you want to use the CD command, then you have to add the parameter /D

The CD D: that you typed in your picture is just the system thinking that you are trying to memorize the D drive in the system, so you are still returning to the original directory. There is also a directory called AE I want to enter the AE directory directly in the location of your picture as follows

CD /D D:\AD\AE

Be sure to add the parameter (/D) If you do not add the parameter just write CD D:\AD\AE the system will still return to the original directory just to remember that if you go to the default directory of the D-disk, when you enter the D: enter you will find that you have already entered the AE directory of the D-disk. directly into the AE directory on the D drive skipping the AD directory
