Cultivation Objectives
This program cultivates "engineering-type" application talents with comprehensive development in morality, intellect, physique and aesthetics, and systematic mastery of basic theories, basic knowledge and basic skills of Internet of Things Engineering. The graduates have the ability to specialize in the field of network and information technology. Graduates have professional qualities in the field of network and information technology, the ability to analyze and solve practical problems, and are suitable for enterprises and institutions in the field of Internet of Things Engineering and related fields, research departments, universities and colleges engaged in research and development of product design, scientific research, and teaching, and can also continue to study for a master's degree in this discipline and related disciplines.
Employment and Further Study Prospects
The Internet of Things industry is an emerging industry, with the upgrading and development of the Internet to the Internet of Things, the Internet of Things, big data and so on will become the new industrial growth point, the national development strategy and the future market demand determines that there is a huge demand for these professionals in the future, so this specialty has a broad employment prospects. At the same time, the graduates of this specialty have the basic knowledge of electronics, communication and computer disciplines, in addition to the graduate students of this specialty, but also in the above related professions to obtain a master's degree and continue to further study.
Cultivation Characteristics
The goal of the Internet of Things major is to cultivate qualified engineering and practical talents specifically for the needs of the Internet of Things industry. The specialty of this program lies in the cultivation of engineering practical ability and the enhancement of engineering literacy. Graduates of this program will be proficient in information sensing, network transmission, information storage, system design and other aspects of technology, with the ability to carry out technological research and development and research in the field of Internet of Things, to become qualified engineering talents.
To enhance students' engineering literacy in the future, in addition to the mastery of theoretical knowledge, graduates will receive a lot of training in practical aspects. In addition to general course experiments, there are course designs to develop comprehensive practical skills, engineering practice and internships that are closer to the working environment. Through these practical activities, the graduates' ability in circuit design, computer programming and integrated design of information systems will be focused on, laying a good foundation for employment after graduation.
Teaching and Research Strength
The Internet of Things Engineering major is a new major, and the School of Information Engineering of Central University of Nationalities has made all efforts to strive for a good Internet of Things major. There are 27 teachers working on IoT, including 5 professors, 12 associate professors and 16 doctoral degree holders.
The Internet of Things is an emerging specialty with continuous heat both in academia and industry, and the teachers of the School of Information Engineering have been involved in the development of the field. After several years of accumulation, the faculty members of the School of Information Engineering have made considerable achievements in the core technology areas of IoT, such as wireless sensor networks, wearable devices, mobile Internet, and big data storage.
The IoT program is a program that puts more emphasis on engineering literacy and engineering design capability, so we are also proud to have a team of faculty members with rich engineering practice capability and engineering experience. Over the past few years, we have designed wireless sensor networks for environmental monitoring, intelligent information collection terminals with national characteristics, and a big data platform for national culture, and the "Healthy Family Internet of Things System" designed by our faculty has been successfully put into operation in the Beijing market. Teachers specializing in Internet of Things actively guide students to participate in various university innovation competitions related to Internet of Things. For example, the National University Internet of Things Application Competition, Android Application Design Competition, and the Electronic Design Competition for College Students related to electronics and information technology, all of which have achieved remarkable results.
This program is open to candidates of science and technology, with a four-year course of study, and a bachelor's degree in engineering is awarded upon graduation.
