MTU refers to the maximum transmission unit, that is, the maximum packet size in transmission. In ordinary Ethernet, the default setting of MTU is 1500 bytes. A larger MTU value can reduce packet fragmentation and improve transmission efficiency. 1500 bytes is the maximum value of Ethernet packets and the default setting of most network adapters and switches. Using MTU 1500 can transmit data faster, reduce the overhead of fragmentation and recombination, and improve the efficiency of network communication.
