Song Jiang, the word Gongming, is the whole "Water Margin" in the first character, for the Liangshan uprising leader. Song Jiang was ranked first among the one hundred and eight generals, and was the Tiankui Star, the first of the thirty-six stars of the Big Dipper. He was nicknamed Hubao Yi, also known as Timely Rain. The court sent Hu Yanzhuo to attack Liangshan, where Song Gongming was defeated by a chain of horses.

Xu Ning is the eighteenth Liangshan good man, the horse army eight tiger riding and vanguard make the second. Xu Ning was originally the capital of the Golden Gun class instructor. After Song Jiang was defeated by Hu Yanzhuo chained horses, Wu used a plan to let Shi Qian steal armor to trick Xu Ning on the Liangshan Mountain. Xu Ning taught the Liang Shan men to use the hook and sickle spear to defeat Hu Yanzhuo and made a great achievement.

Water Margin is one of China's four great masterpieces, depicting the story of the uprising of 108 heroes at Liangshan Mountain in the late Northern Song Dynasty, led by Song Jiang, and their acceptance of peace and conquest after the uprising. It is also one of the most epic works in Chinese literature. It is one of the earliest chapter books written in vernacular language in Chinese history.
