Shanghai Automobile General Motors is a joint venture company (a joint venture between SAIC and GM), similar to Shanghai Volkswagen and others.

Wuling is a company (Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd.) and also a brand. Until 2002, the Wuling brand of vans was produced by Wuling.

In November 2002, SAIC, GM and Wuling established an independent joint venture - SAIC-GM Wuling Automobile Co. Since then, all Wuling brand vans have been produced by SAIC-GM Wuling.

In 2010 SAIC-GM-Wuling established the Baojun brand for passenger cars. The vans still use the Wuling brand.
