(Introduction to PubMed:
PubMed is a query system based on World Wide Web, which is developed by National Biotechnology Information Center (NCBI) and belongs to National Medical Library (NLM).
PubMed is one of several database query systems in NCBI Entrez.
PubMed provides free access to MEDLINE, PREMEDLINE and other related databases. MEDLINE is a huge database with 654.38 billion annotations.
PubMed also contains links to publishers' websites, which provide full-text journals, biological data from third parties, data from sequencing centers and so on.
PubMed provides the link and access service of comprehensive molecular biology database, which is owned by NCBI, and its contents include: DNA and protein sequences, gene map data, three-dimensional protein conformation, and online human Mendelian genetics.
(2) Page introduction: (The update is very fast, but the content generally does not change much)
Type in the URL address box of your browser.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
And click enter, you will enter the main page of Pubmed. As shown in the figure:
Introduction to the left box of the home page (note: Cubby and tutorial are the latest additions)
Grid browser: You can use it to browse grid tables hierarchically.
The single citation matcher can input the information of the journal by filling in a form to find the content of a single document or the whole journal.
Batch Citution Matcher uses a specific form to enter periodical information and search multiple documents at the same time.
Clinical inquiry is designed for clinicians, and the searched documents are fixed in four areas by filtering: treatment, diagnosis, etiology and prognosis.

The specific usage of each item will be introduced in detail later.
3) Related resources
Order Documents provides a fee-based service, and users can obtain full-text copies of documents locally (with different fees and delivery methods).
Thanksgiving medical care is another link of NLM network query system. Grateful Med also provides access to MEDLINE, and there are some other databases, such as AIDSLINE and HISTLINE.
Consumer Health provides a link to MEDLINEplus, a network node of the National Library of Medicine related to consumer health information.
The purpose of this part of clinical alert is to accelerate the release of clinical research results funded by NIH.
2. Introduction at the bottom of the homepage
Diclaimer can download information about copyright, disclaimer of responsibility and guarantee, and relevant policies of NLM here.
Write to the service desk and send an email to NLM customer service department.

The usage of the main part of the query (that is, the upper part of the page) will be explained below.
Suppose our job this time is to find the literature related to gallstones and pain.
Enter the query words in the dialog box. For example, if we enter gallstone pain this time, and then click the "go" button or enter, PubMed will automatically start searching and display the retrieved related items on the screen.
You can enter a query word in the query box at any time, and then click the "go" button to start a new query. The Clear button can help you clear the contents of the query box and start a new query.
There is a drop-down menu after the search prompt in front of the query box, and you can select other information resources or NCBI database.
Structure search molecular modeling database (MMDB), which stores three-dimensional molecular structures established by X-ray crystal imaging and NMR spectrophotometry.
Genome provides query service for all records and pictures of genes and chromosomes. Millions of gene sequences in this library are obtained from huge gene sequencing work.
The content in the PopSet database is the result of human evolution and racial differences obtained from the research on related races, human development and mutation.
Below we will introduce the query results screen in detail.
Display Options (Display Options)
After Display, there is a drop-down menu where you can select various display options.
Summary PubMed adopts this display format by default, and his display includes the following items:
Author: All the authors in the record have trophies on display.
Related: List related contents, such as articles, protein, nucleotides, etc. (The listed articles are not displayed in abstract format).
Title: Topics in non-English languages will be translated into English with brackets.
Source: Provide the abbreviation, publication time, volume number and page number of the journal where the literature is located, including language (non-English literature) and publication type. A document without a summary will display "No summary is available"
Identification number: PubMed identification (PMID) and MEDLINE unique identification (UI) are provided.
The items displayed in short format include the author's name, the first 10 letters of the document name and the unique identifier of PubMed.
The abstract format will display the following contents: document title, author, first author's unit (address), periodical source (abbreviation of periodical name, publication date, number of volumes, number of pages), annotation when necessary, publication type, annotation of non-English articles, abstract, remarks, and unique identification of PubMed and MEDLINE.
Legend format: displays the unique identification of literature source, name, author, first author unit (address), abstract, PubMed and MEDLINE.
Citation provides the following information: document source, document title, author, first author's unit (address), marking if necessary, publication type, abstract, staggered string in red display title, remarks, mesh words, subject name, chemical substance (if any), macro number (if any), unique identification of PubMed and MEDLINE.
MEDLINE format (MEDLINE) displays all the contents of MEDLINE records in two characters. Using this format, records can be downloaded to software programs that manage bibliographies.
The search summary query summary shows the number of all items found and how many pages need to be displayed. By default, it is 20 pages.
The displayed drop-down menu allows you to select the corresponding number of items displayed per page.
Number of pages Select the number of pages. PubMed displays the contents of different pages according to your choice. The selected page is displayed in red, and then click > > or <
