The reasons for the continued increase in total tea sales are on the one hand the continued increase in consumer demand, and on the other hand the continued rise in tea prices. Since 2014, the average tea sales price has generally shown an upward trend. , by 2021, the average sales price of tea in my country will be 135.5 yuan/kg, which is second only to the price of 139.3 yuan/kg in 2018.

Green tea accounts for more than half of the consumption

Judging from the consumption of various types of tea, green tea is currently the main consumer variety in my country's tea market. In 2021, among China's traditional tea categories, the consumption of the six major tea categories has increased at varying rates. Among them, green tea was 1.3092 million tons, accounting for 56.87% of the total sales; black tea was 338,800 tons, accounting for 14.72% of the total sales; dark tea was 344,100 tons, accounting for 14.95% of the total sales; other types of tea sales accounted for less than 10%.

As for green tea specifically, in recent years, my country’s green tea consumption has shown a steady upward trend. According to statistics from the China Tea Circulation Association, in 2018, my country's green tea consumption was 1.2059 million tons. By 2021, my country's green tea consumption will increase to 1.3092 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.35%.
