Qingdao Hotel Management Vocational and Technical College is a provincial full-time public ordinary higher education, is the first independent hotel set up in China. It is the first independent hotel management college in China. The college is now set up in tourism and hotel management college, hotel engineering college, culinary college, business administration college, computer technology college, art college, basic teaching department, adult education and so on 8 secondary departments, *** 33 majors, recruiting high school graduates and secondary school counterparts to higher vocational students. There are more than 8500 students from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China as well as neighboring countries such as Singapore, South Korea and the Philippines.

On the morning of August 23, 2005 the Minister of Education Zhou Ji and his entourage, including the vice governor of Shandong Province, the director of the Department of Education, Qingdao City, deputy mayor, director of the Bureau of Education, the Ministry of Education and other relevant leaders of the province and the city of Qingdao to nearly 40 people, to inspect the work of the College.
