Zhang Weizhong himself has more than 100,000 followers on Zhihu, and has answered more than 5,000 questions online, which makes him a well-known V in the field of eyewear.

The mission of Qiming Eyewear is to deliver a healthy and sustainable lifestyle to our customers by providing them with professional, comfortable, and reassuring eyewear dispensing services. We hope that when customers think of Qiming, they are comfortable and relieved.

The average optometry time for a customer is more than 30 minutes, including 20 minutes for indoor examination and 15 minutes for outdoor fitting.

The main process includes a 3-minute music heat compress, computerized optometry examination, comprehensive optometry examination, shadow checking, and finally, you have to try on the glasses outdoors for more than 15 minutes to simulate the daily use of the eyes and so on, which is a total of 18 steps of the process.

And from the opening of the store to date for 10 years, optometry has been no charge, whether with or without prescription, no charge.

All of Qiming's optometrists have a solid theoretical background and a wealth of front-line experience in optometry, and many of them have the title of national optometric technician.

In order to better carry out our service concept of not selling, and to prevent optometrists from actively selling more expensive products without starting from the actual situation of the customer, we have also made a lot of adjustments in the system. The main thing is that all the optometrists' salaries are not related to sales, and are replaced by service processes and customer ratings as important indicators of performance evaluation.

The store has an independent closed optometry room, all of which are semi-dark room design.

The optometry equipment is mainly the original equipment of the world's top eyeglasses dispensing equipment brands NIDEK (Japan) and ZEISS (Germany).

We have strict regulations on the optometry time, no more optometry beyond 19:00, because at this time, the fatigue level of human eyes and natural light are not suitable for optometry.

About 3D printing customized glasses

3D printing customized glasses is one of our special products, which is only sold by Qiming in Beijing.

3D printing is a cumulative manufacturing, rapid prototyping technology. Based on a digital model file, it uses bondable materials such as special waxes, powdered metals or plastics to create three-dimensional objects by printing layers of bonded material.

3D printed glasses, is the use of 3D printing technology to produce glasses, this kind of glasses can fully realize the freedom of "from design to production". Simply put, you can use a 3D printer to customize each pair of glasses.

The face is first scanned by the unique 3D facial recognition software, which reads more than 30,000 measurement points on the face, more than 200 facial features, and ultimately more than 20 facial data. The data is then transmitted to the factory, where it is analyzed by the system's big data to calculate the frame size that best fits the face, and the data is sent to the printer for production, with each pair of 3D glasses produced individually.

3D glasses can be adapted to various face shapes, not limited by the size of the assembly line products, can be adjusted according to the shape of each person's face, the size of the middle beam, frames, temples, etc., to wear without pinching the face, do not slide, for the face of the larger people and children are especially suitable.

The 3D-printed glasses are mainly made of polyamide, also known as "nylon," which is a fiber powder.

This is by far the most common material used in the 3D printing market, and not the usual sheet or other plastic materials. Polyamide is a synthetic polymer that is abrasion-resistant, tough, strong, and heat-resistant. Polyamide can be used in medical applications, printed in the shape of a head and put into the human body, so it is an absolutely safe material.

Every pair of 3D glasses production will be completed after the hinge durability test, spring expansion and tension test, reinforced impact resistance, penetration test, HSP test at extreme temperature, abrasion resistance test, salt spray test, mechanical stability, lens retention, frame color, surface and structure, and so on, more than 20 strict quality control tests, in order to ensure that the quality of the frame meets the factory standards.

Finally, Qiming currently has only two stores, both in Beijing.

One in Haidian Huangzhuang and one in Dawanglu. The Dawanglu store, which opened in 2018, was crowdfunded by 34 of our regular customers, so it's also known as a "crowdfunded store".
