Because the solubility product of copper hydroxide and copper carbonate is about the same, so it tends to generate basic copper carbonate, and if the solubility product of the hydroxide is much smaller than that of its carbonate, it tends to generate only the hydroxide, so soluble magnesium salts and aluminum salts do not follow the normal pathway of generating precipitates with soluble carbonates
