Anhui Medical University, a key university in Anhui Province, was selected as a basic capacity-building project for universities in the central and western regions, and became the first batch of "high-level university construction with local characteristics" in the revitalization plan of higher education in Anhui Province and the "excellent doctoral education training plan" in the Ministry of Education.
The school's predecessor was the private Southeast Medical College founded in Shanghai in May, 1926. At the end of 1949, in response to the call of the Central East China Bureau, Anhui moved to Anhui Province and became the first medical college in Anhui Province. 1952 was renamed Anhui medical college. 65438+1June, 1996, with the approval of the State Education Commission, it was renamed Anhui Medical University.

1926, Guo Qiyuan and Tang Lizhou founded the private Southeast Medical University on the former site of Yadong Medical University, and started the teaching of Anhui Medical University.
