Therefore, this year's Beijing Auto Show can be regarded as a concentrated expression of market adjustment. Strong brands, such as Geely, Great Wall, BYD and Baojun, are in full swing, while weak brands are silent. Although you can see those tepid brands, no one cares about them on the booth.
Since it is a "stock" market, independent brands should try their best to grab meat from joint venture brands. Not long ago, Ada, deputy secretary general of China Automobile Industry Association, wrote that in the next five years, the market share of China brand passenger cars must reach or exceed 50%, which is the collective mission and vision of China Autobots.
According to the current market share of 33.8%, it means that it is obviously not easy for independent brands to snatch the market share of 17% from joint venture brands. But the good news is that we can already see the attraction of independent brands beyond joint venture brands.
At this year's Beijing Auto Show, independent brands brought many attractions, including Haval Dog, WEY Tank 300, Euler Good Cat, Geely Xingrui and Lectra ZERO. However, SAIC-GM has no new product release arrangement and almost no sense of existence.
Perhaps it is because the sudden epidemic has disrupted the pace of communication, and many new products were released or listed before the Beijing Auto Show, or perhaps it is because most joint venture brands occupy the dominant position in the market and do not need to express themselves through the auto show, so they have long been determined.
In any case, it is an indisputable fact that this year's Beijing Auto Show's own brand is more brilliant than the joint venture brand. Among the 82 new cars launched in the world at the auto show, there are 68 independent brands; 160 in the new energy exhibition car, independent brands accounted for 147.
What makes us more gratified is that today's independent brands not only win by quantity, but also by quality.
