In the era of big data, construction and urban engineering are also major application areas for big data technologies. Throughout the construction and operation process, the construction industry generates a large amount of data such as the project's structural data, cost data, energy data, schedule data, and construction workers' behavioral data. It is estimated that a construction project can generate 27T of data from the beginning of design to the end of completion. Such a huge data resource in the construction field provides a good foundation for the application of big data.
However, due to the inherent characteristics of the construction industry itself, such as the difficulty of data collection and the isolation of various types of data, a large amount of data does not really flow. Therefore, it is necessary for this paper to discuss the current status of the application of big data technology in construction and urban engineering, summarize the value of the application of big data, and put forward development proposals.
