Henan Forestry Vocational College is a full-time ordinary higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Henan Province and filed with the Ministry of Education, a designated institution for IT vocational and technical education project of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and one of the first batch of industry demonstration vocational schools in Henan Province.
The predecessor of the college was Henan Luoyang Agricultural and Forestry Secondary Technical School founded in April 1951; in August 1953, the school was renamed Henan Luoyang Forestry School; in 1958, the school was upgraded to Henan Luoyang Forestry College; in August 1963, the school resumed its original name of Henan Luoyang Forestry School.
In February 1998, the school was renamed Henan Forestry School; in 2002, the Henan Provincial Forestry Department and Henan University of Science and Technology jointly operated the school, and established Henan University of Science and Technology College of Forestry Vocational College on the basis of Henan Forestry School; on March 1, 2013, the People's Government of Henan Province formally approved the establishment of Henan Forestry Vocational College.
As of April 2016, the college covers an area of 340 acres, with a total building area of 120,000 square meters, fixed assets of 290 million yuan, six departments and 32 specialty majors, 324 faculty and staff, and more than 5,000 students.2022 On April 29, 2022, the group branch of the 1933 class of the Department of Letters and Arts of the Henan Forestry Vocational College, majoring in environmental art and design, was honored as the 2021 "Henan Province May 4 Red Flag Youth League Branch" title.
Teaching Construction
As of April 2016, the college has six key construction majors in Henan Province, five teaching demonstration majors in Henan Province, and has built a wildlife taxidermy museum, Luoyang City Cultural Creativity Training Platform, Luoyang City Mobile Internet Application Technology Training Platform, Gardening Training Center, and Automobile Assembly and Maintenance Training Center.
