With the popularity of data analytics, data science has become a widely recognized technology. The job of a data analyst has become one of the most attractive, cool and well-paying jobs of the new century. But data analysis performed by data scientists involves manipulating huge data sets. For this particular requirement, an ordinary laptop is not enough to meet the demand, so for data analysis, a laptop with some extra features and then only it can be used for data analysis.
First of all, let us look at the main requirements of a laptop configuration which will be ideal for performing data analysis. There are three main requirements of a laptop that make it ideal for data analysis.
Processor
Intel 7 quad-core processor is the best choice of processor. While an i5 processor will work fine, an i7 processor is ideal when you are working with large data sets. Quad-core processors, as the name suggests, have four cores that increase the processing speed of your computer, and using the newer 6th generation processors is a good choice.
Hard drive
Laptops must have at least a 512 GB hard drive to handle large data sets. While one may still face the problem of running out of space on the hard disk drive, at least it can be increased. However, solid state drives are much better compared to hard disk drives because they are fast and they don't spin like hard disk drives.
Memory/RAM
Systems should have at least 16 GB of RAM space, as sometimes the machine may not be able to handle heavier situations. In such cases, it may be necessary to run a virtual machine.
