How to look up historical weather data

I'm not sure where the subject needs the data. In fact, it is completely free and fast to get, and there are quite a few data sources. There are two kinds of data, one is the measured data obtained through the weather station, and the other is the high-precision reanalysis information. Both types of data are available on a yearly/monthly/daily/hourly cycle.

1. Measured data from weather stations:

As shown in Figure 1, the global distribution of weather stations is shown, and you can select any station on the world map to get the historical weather data of that station.

For example, the historical data of Xi'an Jinghe weather station is shown in Figure 2.

2. High-precision reanalysis data:

The advantage of reanalysis data is that the data continuity is good, and there is no breakpoint in one year. The second is that the meteorological elements are comprehensive, including data on infrequently recorded solar radiation, geothermal heat flux, cloudiness, snowfall, and so on, are all available. As shown in Figure 3, the grid point is located in Chang'an District, Xi'an City, and various meteorological elements can be selected on the right side of the interface, without giving examples.

In fact, we are more concerned about the accuracy of these meteorological data, so you can see that there are different data columns: station measured, county data, 10km ultra-high precision, yearbook information and so on. For example, the precipitation in the same geographical area, the data obtained from different sources will be more or less different. In fact, this is a good thing for scientific research, which can give us more reference basis.
