During the period of annual leave, the employer shall pay wages and remuneration according to normal attendance. This should be regarded as attendance for the purpose of calculating wages. China has a standard working hour system in which workers work eight hours a day and 40 hours a week.
Enterprises that are in a position to do so should implement the standard working hours system. In some enterprises, where the nature of the work and the characteristics of production make it impossible to implement the standard working hours system, workers shall be guaranteed to work no more than eight hours a day, no more than 44 hours a week, and at least one day's rest a week.
Enterprises that are unable to implement the standard working hour system due to their production characteristics and that meet the conditions may, with the approval of the labor security administrative department, implement a comprehensive working hour system. For those workers who implement the comprehensive working hour system, the enterprise shall reasonably determine the labor quotas or other assessment standards of the workers in accordance with the standard working hour system, so as to arrange for the workers to take rest.
