As far as the actual problem is concerned, the two are not in the same class, Southwest Petroleum University is basically in the ranking of China's universities around 100, while Xi'an Petroleum seems to be hard to find (good and good). These two institutions have been mainly petroleum research, its most characteristic specialties when the petroleum engineering, followed by oil and gas storage and transportation, these two specialties are in a college (petroleum engineering), but the Southwest Petroleum Engineering College claims to have 108 professors, an academician, and Xi'an Petroleum is relatively inferior, 20 professors only. Furthermore, Southwest China has long had several doctoral programs specializing in petroleum, but Xi'an Petroleum has none so far. However, mainly because the northwest region itself is backward in development, Xi'an has a wide range of universities, the number of the country at least ranked in the top three, it should be second only to Beijing; Shanghai. So as managed by the provincial government of Xi'an Petroleum University simply can not get more favor, can only rely on their own development.
