Article 58 of People's Republic of China (PRC) Highway Law allows the establishment of toll roads according to law, and at the same time controls the number of toll roads. It is forbidden to collect vehicle tolls on any highway except the highway that can collect vehicle tolls as stipulated in Article 59 of this Law.

According to the Implementation Plan for Exempting Small Bus Toll on Major Holidays, the calculation of high-speed free time starts at 00: 00 on the first day of the holiday and ends at 24: 00 on the last day of the holiday (the time when the vehicle passes through the toll lane of the toll station shall prevail for ordinary highways and the time when the vehicle leaves the exit toll lane for expressways). The free passage time of the expressway covers four national legal holidays, such as Spring Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Labor Day and National Day, and the above-mentioned legal holidays determined by the documents of the General Office of the State Council in that year.

Determination of getting on and off the expressway free of charge

It is understood that the free time is based on the time when the vehicle leaves the expressway exit toll lane. Ordinary roads are based on the time when vehicles pass through the toll lane of toll stations. In other words, there is no charge if you get on the expressway during the charging period and get off the expressway during the free period. On the other hand, if you get on the expressway during the free period and get off the expressway during the charging period, you will be charged.

It must be reminded here that there are preconditions for free highways. For example, he is free only during National Day, Tomb-Sweeping Day, Labor Day and Spring Festival.
