He is now the honorary chairman of the Connecticut Science Advisory Center (the chief emergency of scientific services) and a full-time professor of forensic medicine at the University of New Haven. He also helped the university to establish the Li Changyu Institute of Forensic Medicine. Prior to that, he served as Connecticut Commissioner for Public Safety, Director of Connecticut Forensic Laboratory and Chief Criminologist from 2000 to 2000. He has identified several major cases, such as the murder of JonBenét Ramsey, the murder of his wife by OJ Simpson, and the murder of Laci Peterson. And the forensic work after 9 1 1 terrorist attacks.
