Traditional statisticians, statistics are no longer necessary. But you can continue to accumulate experience and become a data analyst in the "IT" world, i.e. big data analysis.

Learn about computers, mathematical and physical sciences, optimization of business models, design of data architectures, and operation of data capital in your current position, and aspire to get into a high-tech Companies;

A qualified big data analyst should master the skills are:

Statistical analysis: the law of large numbers, sampling the law of inference, rank sum test, regression analysis, analysis of variance, etc.;

Visualization aids: Excel, PPT, mind mapping, Visio;

Big data processing framework: Hadoop, Kaffka, Storm, Echo, and so on. Kaffka, Storm, ELK, Spark;

Databases: SQLite, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Cassandra, HBase;

Data Warehouse/Business Intelligence: SSIS Data Warehouse, SSAS SSRS, DW;

Data Mining Tools: Matlab, SAS, SPSS;

Artificial Intelligence: machine learning related knowledge;

Mining Algorithms: data structure, consistency, common algorithms;

Programming Languages: Python, R, Ruby, Java;

In conclusion, the traditional statistician, statistical analysis job is not a permanent job. But this job can be a good start and springboard.
