Xinyang College belongs to the old revolutionary area of Dabie Mountain.

Xinyang College was founded in 2003, the Department of the "National Top Ten Livable Cities", west of the "Pearl of the Yangtze River and Huaihuai" Nanwan Lake, south of the "Park in the clouds" Jigong Mountain. The school campus environment is beautiful, famous teachers, rigorous, excellent, well-equipped facilities, is the ideal place for students to study and further their education.

The school is centered on talent cultivation, and has formed a professional cluster based on teacher training majors, emerging application majors as the backbone, and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines. Since 2019, the school has realized the master's degree granting project construction unit, "the key project of the National Social Science Foundation, the national education science '13th Five-Year Plan' national projects and the National Social Science Foundation special project of the Civic and Political Science Course Research", Seven historic breakthroughs, including the key research base of humanities and social sciences in Henan Province, the provincial Chinese outstanding traditional culture inheritance base, the provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, the first first first-class undergraduate courses in Henan Province, as well as the Higher Education Teaching Achievement Award in Henan Province.
