Chengde is known as the "Purple Mountain", and is the most famous city in the world. Chengde has always been known as the "Pearl of the Purple Plateau" and is a tourist city that has a magical relationship with the royal family. Now set "seven laurels" in one: is one of China's first 24 historical and cultural cities, one of China's top ten scenic spots, one of China's 44 key scenic spots, one of China's top forty tourist attractions, one of the first batch of China's excellent tourist cities, one of the country's top ten civilized tourism scenic spots demonstration points. 1994 December The Summer Resort and surrounding temples were included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO.

As a nationally renowned tourist city of Chengde has a long history and deep cultural connotation, and as a Chengde people, I am also proud of this, on the occasion of this summer investigation and practice, I made a survey of the tourism situation in their hometown.

(I) Chengde's tourism development status quo

1, rooted in high quality and rich tourism resources

In the questionnaire survey I set up, more than 95% of tourists come to Chengde for the purpose of traveling to visit the summer resort. And almost 100% of the tourists know the summer resort.

The Summer Resort has a history of more than 300 years so far. Kangxi forty-two years (1703) began in this big construction, to the fifty-second year of Kangxi (1713) built 36 scenes. (2) bottlenecks constraining the development of Chengde's tourism

People who have traveled to Chengde may have the feeling that Chengde's tourism is "first-class resources, second-rate service, third-rate facilities". In my questionnaire there are also nearly 30% of the tourists said they came to Chengde have a certain sense of disappointment.

The reasons are as follows:

1 economic development backward, weak financial strength

Chengde is a poor mountainous area, agricultural development constraints, coupled with many years for the protection of the Beijing-Tianjin water, many industrial enterprises, key projects have been put on hold. Insufficient financial resources, lack of funds will certainly cause slow development of tourism.

2, transportation conditions constraints

In my survey set up a question "you think you come to Chengde tourism is the most dissatisfied with what" in which more than half of the people answered is the traffic. Transportation development is lagging behind, is a major bottleneck in the development of Chengde tourism. From Chengde to Beijing, it takes nearly 6 hours by ordinary train and 3-4 hours by car. And there is no civil airport in Chengde so far. The poor highway between scenic spots, difficult to form a network, directly restricting the development of tourism in Chengde.

3, the development and maintenance of the scenic area is unreasonable, the ticket price is high, the tourist route is too old.

4, urban planning is unreasonable, the details of the urban environment affects the mood of tourists

In my question, "What do you think is the most dissatisfied with the Chengde tour," 15% answered that the urban environment is poor. The restrooms in and around the scenic spots are hard to find and the sanitary conditions are not good. These details are also directly related to the mood of tourists and thus affect the quality of tourism.

Through the comprehensive analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of Chengde tourism, after the completion of the survey, I think and initially formulated to enhance the competitiveness of Chengde tourism program planning, specifically as follows:

1, to improve the main transportation must be dominant

Beijing-Chengdu Expressway has been formally opened to traffic in 2007, which brings a lot of space for the development of Chengde. The vast majority of travelers I surveyed come to Chengde through travel agencies, so cooperating with travel agencies to promote Chengde to the whole country and the world will certainly be a very effective way.

(3) Use of network publicity. Chengde currently has a number of network publicity website, but the website level is not high, lack of characteristics. Should further strengthen the network construction publicity.

4, improve the urban environment, strengthen the urban construction

Most of the people traveling to Chengde think that the city's environment needs to be improved, less green, building chaos is one of the outstanding problems, which should strengthen the city's appearance monitoring efforts, good urban planning; can be taken to Dalian and other cities, to take the experience, through which to make their own urban characteristics. At the same time also increase the urban air and noise pollution control efforts to improve the tourism infrastructure.
