Chen Jinggu, Li Sanniang, and Lin nine niang are collectively called "Mrs. Sannai", and Chen Jinggu is called "Mrs. Big Milk or Grandma". Other aliases include Mrs. Chennai, Mrs. Linshui, Mrs. Tzu Chi and Mrs. Shuntian. Ernian's mother, also known as Lin nine niang or Mrs. Lin. Sanniang Li Sanniang is also called Li Sannai or Li Furen. But in some places, "Mrs. Sannai" is used to refer to Chen Jinggu.

Chen Jinggu was born in the second year of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty and was proficient in magic. When he was pregnant, he happened to encounter a drought in Fujian. When he was pregnant and begged for rain, he miscarried and died. Before he died, he made an oath: "After death, he will become a god and save the women who have dystocia." During the Jianning period, a woman was pregnant 17 months and could not bear children. After Chen Jinggu's magical treatment, she gave birth to several poisonous snakes, and her mother was safe and sound. It is also said that there are pythons spitting poison in Linshui Town, Gutian County. One day, a villager saw a woman in Zhuyi kill a poisonous snake with a sword. The villagers asked her who she was. She replied "I am Chen Jinggu" and disappeared. Therefore, the local people built a temple for her in the cave and called her "Mrs. Waterfront". Chen Jinggu, Lin Sha Niang and Li San Niang became friends with Jin Lan. Together, they followed Xu Xun to Lushan Mountain and went down to preach. Therefore, the Taoist school with Mrs. Sannai as the main god and the mountain as the founder is called the "Sannai School".
