There is no standard definition of an IoT platform, just as IoT is not a new technology, but rather the application of existing technologies in new scenarios and use cases. Each of the industry giants can reorganize a "business platform" based on their business characteristics, integrating their business and product lines, taking away ****ty technologies, business processes, etc., and call it an IoT platform. For example, system service/software vendors build an AEP platform by opening up development tools and APIs; industrial giants digitize and encapsulate the Kown-how of a certain segment into a set of solutions, which can provide an industrial Internet platform.
Of course, the construction of a platform is not as simple as it sounds; it is a systematic project that requires upstream and downstream resource integration and optimization, as well as logical restructuring based on business needs and top-level planning, rather than simple superposition.
Based on the reality that there are a large number of platform providers, most of them can only provide a portion of the platform's capabilities. In fact, such companies cannot be called IoT platform providers. If they provide simple functionality such as connection management or application enablement, they can only be called connection management platforms or application enablement platforms, not comprehensive IoT platforms.
What an IoT platform can do:The IoT platform is based on the three cloud computing service models of IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service), and SaaS (Software as a Service), and it has gradually improved its functional system, i.e., ICP (Infrastructure Cloud Service Platform), CMP (Connection Management), DMP (Device Management Platform), and AEP (Application Enablement Platform). CMP (Connection Management), DMP (Device Management Platform), AEP (Application Enablement Platform), and BAP (Business Analysis Platform).
