High Velocity. The high velocity of big data refers to the rapid growth of data, which is growing exponentially in all industries. Big data refers to those data sets that are particularly large in volume and complex in data categories, which cannot be dumped, managed, and processed with traditional databases, and are massive, high-growth-rate, and diverse information assets that require new processing paradigms in order to have stronger decision-making, insight discovery, and process optimization capabilities.
