The history of Sanmenxia Vocational and Technical College can be traced back to 1946 when Henan Province established the Shaanxian County Normal School; in 1999, Sanmenxia Institute of Technology, Sanmenxia Radio and Television University, and Yuxi Normal School merged to form Sanmenxia Vocational and Technical College. In 2017, the college was selected as a national quality higher vocational college construction project in Henan Province.
