Space-time Daoyu low orbit navigation enhancement of the first two stars
The global commercial space field ushered in the accelerated period.
At 9:00 a.m. EST on December 19th, SpaceX launched the NROL-108 payload successfully into orbit on a cloudy Kennedy Spaceport using the Falcon 9 commercial launch vehicle.
Earlier, the company successfully executed the Crew-1 commercial human spaceflight mission, sending four astronauts into space on a Falcon 9 rocket, thus opening the curtain on commercial human spaceflight and becoming an important practice for commercial companies to explore the direction of human spaceflight.
Not only that, SpaceX is also accelerating the launch process. According to incomplete statistics, in 2020 SpaceX*** carried out 26 launch missions, sending 854 spacecraft into orbit, breaking the previous record of 21 launches in 2018 for the calendar year.
Meanwhile, China's national policy of accelerating the commercialization and industrialization of the private space sector has begun to fall into place, and is gradually forming industrial clusters.SpaceX's Chinese apprentices are looking for a differentiated path of development under competition.
With the National Development and Reform Commission in April this year, the satellite Internet into the "new infrastructure", capital to increase investment in commercial space track. According to public data, the total amount of new financing in China's commercial space sector in 2020 has reached 4 billion yuan, up 78.9% from 2.235 billion yuan in 2019.
Even the uncertainty brought about by the new crown epidemic has failed to interrupt the rapid development of commercial spaceflight.Since May, cities such as Shanghai, Beijing, Fuzhou, Chongqing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and other cities have successively put forward action programs involving the satellite Internet, and plan to build a commercial spaceflight industry ecosystem covering rockets, satellites, ground terminals, and application services.
"Under policy guidance and government support, China's commercial spaceflight has ushered in a new era of development, and the blowout will continue." Wang Yang, founder of Space-Time Daoyu, said in an interview with Titanium Media that although the commercial satellite industry is still in the early stages of investment, the market potential in this field is huge, including star-based navigation, unmanned vehicles and other important scenarios, commercial satellites will play a more important role.
"In terms of network technology, constellation measurement and control, and network operation, China has rich technical experience."
Public data shows that by 2025, the global satellite Internet output value can reach $560 billion to $850 billion. In China, the overall commercial spaceflight market size has shown year-on-year growth. in 2019, China's commercial spaceflight market size was 836.23 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 23.5%.
As of now, there are more than 160 commercial space enterprises in China, covering a wide range of links in the upstream of the industry chain, such as the supply of satellites, rockets and other supporting and overall manufacturing and launch services; and the downstream of the satellite navigation applications, satellite measurement and control, satellite remote sensing operations.
In November 2018, Space-time Daoyu was formally established, as China's first echelon of commercial spaceflight companies, which is subordinate to Geely Technology Group. Currently, Space-Time Daoyu has possessed microsatellite product-level design and mass production delivery capabilities, and has accumulated more than 150 invention patents. In addition to satellite manufacturing, its business scope also involves satellite ground equipment manufacturing, satellite operation and application of the whole industry chain.
In fact, before founding Space and Time, Wang Yang worked for nearly a decade at the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Microsatellite Innovation Research Institute, during which he was responsible for the research and development of multiple projects in satellite and ground systems as a software and hardware engineer. The first time I saw this, it was a very good idea to go back to the beginning of my life.
Wang Yang, General Manager and Chief Scientist of Space and Time Daoyu
Expanding in emerging markets has become Wang Yang's second entrepreneurial journey. With solid scientific research and project experience, he has a clear judgment on the positioning of Space & Time in the industry.
Wang Yang believes that, in the popular track of commercial spaceflight, one of the biggest points of difference between Space and Time is the ability to span the automotive and aerospace industries, and the other is the talent advantage.
This is also the logic of Wang Yang, Space and Time Doyu is located in the "space industry chain", he believes that a clear positioning, is to ensure that the company's high competitiveness of the core. "The first goal is to become the first echelon of commercial space satellite manufacturing, the second goal is around the commercial space application scenarios, the continuous layout, the ultimate goal is to form a whole industry solutions." Wang Yang said in an interview with Titanium Media.
Space-time Daoyu introduced, the core members of the team are from the national space key units, each with more than 10 years of experience in satellite development and more than 3 major models of project experience, and has a full technology chain complete R & D capabilities.
After more than 1 year of orderly development work, *** counting the completion of 12 large-scale tests, more than 200 test items, more than 1800 hours of testing, space-time Daoyu first double star successfully passed the factory review, with launch conditions, will be launched into orbit in the near future.
"An objective fact is that China's aerospace industry has high technical barriers, the system is somehow also more closed, a startup company wants to run out, it must have a clear development goal, enough technical strength, and accurate practice for the goal." Wang Yang told Titanium Media that based on this clear judgment, Space-Time Daoyu or will realize the node type results at the end of 2021.
Currently, there are two main businesses of Space-Time Daoyu, namely satellite manufacturing and high-precision positioning.
In terms of satellite manufacturing, in March 2020, Space-time Daoyu broke ground on a satellite super factory in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province, with a planned investment of 2.27 billion yuan, covering satellite research and development, core component manufacturing, measurement, transportation and control, aerospace materials, and other industrial chain delivery. The factory will eventually become China's first pulsating modular satellite intelligent AIT (assembly integration test) center, as well as China's first deep integration of spacecraft manufacturing and automotive manufacturing capabilities of satellite mass production super factory.
Wang Yang said that the satellite super factory will be committed to achieving low-cost, cost-effective, intelligent, automated satellite manufacturing. Breakthrough the traditional satellite design concept, change the satellite manufacturing model. And the use of automotive industrial-grade components selection and screening technology, civil products and civil technology, thus saving labor costs and time costs, changing the original supply chain system of aerospace products, to provide cost-effective products, while ensuring product quality.
Wang Yang told Titanium Media that the factory will complete construction by the end of 2021 and gradually realize the manufacturing capacity of more than 300 satellites per year.
And in terms of high-precision positioning, Space-time Daoyu will carry out the world's first commercial low-orbit navigation augmentation system validation through the launch of the first two stars in low-orbit, and to promote the construction of the world's first service for the future travel of the world's first integration of heaven and earth, high-precision spatial and temporal information system.
The integrated space-time and space-heaven travel high-precision service built by Space-Time Daoyu is expected to be commercially available by the end of 2021, covering China and Southeast Asia.
Wang Yang said, this system will be based on low-orbit satellite constellation and satellite ground monitoring network coordinated operation, will provide users with global seamless instantaneous high-precision positioning services, in-depth integration of intelligent travel industry integrity function requirements.
Wang Yang emphasized that through these two business modules, Space-time Daoyu can provide users with low-cost, high-reliability satellites and their supply chain products in the field of commercial satellite manufacturing, and provide competitive, safe and reliable customized solutions in the field of satellite communication networks, satellite data applications, and heaven and earth integrated high-precision services, which are y integrated with the industries of intelligent manufacturing, future travel, and big data. We will continue to create value for our customers and establish an open and win-win cooperation ecosystem.
"In the world of the future, the networks of heaven and earth will merge into one. We ultimately hope to create an integrated high-precision space-time information system of heaven and earth, build a rich commercial space industry, and continue to promote the progress of China's space industry."
