Shuozhou, located in the north of China's Shanxi Province, the upper reaches of the Sanggan River, adjacent to the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the northwest, south of the Yanmen Pass, the geomorphological contour of the general north, west and south of the mountains, mountainous, in the middle of the Sangqian River area alluvial plain, relatively low, a temperate continental monsoon climate; under the jurisdiction of the two districts, one city and three counties (Shocheng District, Pinglu District, Huairen City, Shanyin County, Yingxian, Yuyu County), ***73 townships (including street office), 1591 administrative villages; a total area of 10,600 square kilometers, ?2017 resident population of 1.776 million.
Shuozhou City is located in the northwest of Shanxi Province, between the Inner and Outer Great Wall, with longitude 111°53'~113°34'E and latitude 39°05'~40°17'N. It is adjacent to Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the northwest, and chokes the Yanmen Pass in Xinzhou City in the south, and is 129 kilometers away from the ancient city of Datong in the north, 200 kilometers away from the provincial capital of Taiyuan in the south, and 502 kilometers away from the capital city of Beijing in the east.
Suozhou has initially formed to coal, electricity, milk as the pillar industry, both ceramics, food, machinery, building materials, chemical, textile, medicine, metallurgy and refractory materials, etc., a more complete industrial system and to the agriculture and animal husbandry as the leading agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, fisheries and the pattern of integrated development.
