The BRICS New Development Bank signed loan agreements with Fujian, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces in Xiamen on the 3rd to support the construction of green development projects in these three provinces.

The total loan scale of the three projects signed this time is US$ 800 million, which will be used for Fujian Putian Pinghai Offshore Wind Power Project, Hunan Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Ecological Comprehensive Management Project, and Jiangxi Low-carbon Industry Transformation and Green Development Demonstration Project.

According to the agreement, the BRICS New Development Bank will provide a loan of 2 billion yuan to Fujian Putian Pinghai Offshore Wind Power Project to support the construction of 246 MW offshore wind turbines. This project is the first offshore wind power project in Fujian Province. At present, the first phase of the project has been put into production, and the second phase is expected to be completed in 20 19. After completion, it can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 900,000 tons per year.
