Extended data
According to statistics, there are about 800,000 deaf children under 7 years old in China, and the number is increasing by 30,000 every year.
Ma Furong, director of the Department of Otology of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University, said that neonatal deafness is related to congenital factors, such as genetic defects. It is also related to acquired factors. Low birth weight, hyperbilirubinemia, hypoxia at birth and trauma may cause irreversible damage to hearing. Children with mild or moderate deafness can wear hearing AIDS, and children with severe deafness can feel the external sound by implanting cochlear implants.
Public Network-Shandong: The rehabilitation assistance for disabled children after cochlear implantation is not less than 1.5 million.
