Haozhou is an ancient place name. Today, Haozhou refers to Fengyang County, Anhui Province. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, this was the Zhongli State. In the second year of Emperor Kaihuang's reign in the Sui Dynasty, the Western Chu Prefecture was changed to Zhongli County, which was named after the Haoshui River. It was changed to Zhongli County in the early days of Daye, Wude in the Tang Dynasty, and Haozhou was changed again in the Qian and Yuan Dynasties. In the fifth year, it was promoted to Linhao Prefecture, and in the 28th year, it was restored to Haozhou. Zhu Yuanzhang was promoted to Linhao Prefecture in the first year, and it is now Linhuai Town, Fengyang County, Anhui Province.
