Eligibility: If you meet the following eligibility requirements, you can apply for a loan according to the loan plan to pay the tuition fee for the 20 14/ 15 academic year:

Have the right of abode in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (hereinafter referred to as "Hong Kong"), or you or your family have lived in Hong Kong for three consecutive years before the start of the course. This does not include international students holding Hong Kong student visas; and

Is a full-time student studying recognized courses in institutions covered by the Student Finance Scheme for subsidized post-secondary courses.

You can only apply for a loan for one qualified full-time course in the same academic year.

If you are going to participate in the overseas exchange program in the 20 14/ 15 academic year, you are eligible to apply for the loan program as long as you are still a registered full-time student of an authorized institution during the period of participating in the program and are studying courses funded entirely by the University Grants Committee or public funds. Even if you meet the above qualifications, the Student Financial Assistance Office can still ask you to submit supplementary documents/materials when necessary, and reserves the right to finally approve your application for loan scheme.

If you and/or the compensators still have overdue grants and/or loans and/or travel allowances under any student financial aid/loan scheme managed by our office, or you and/or the compensators failed to abide by any terms or conditions of the student financial aid/loan scheme managed by our office in the past, our office has the right to suspend processing your loan application or grant you loans.
